I recently joined Erin and Sarah on a beautiful morning at Red Rocks, just outside of Denver for their engagement photos. It was a tranquil start to a lovely Colorado day and the three of us bounced around the picture-perfect area of Red Rocks for some fun photography. I’ll be their wedding photographer this Summer at City Park, which I’m really, really looking forward to. I have to say, it’s been a real shame that same-sex couples have been going through such hard times. The recent political games, in particular, right here in Colorado have been a real disgrace. As I recently saw quoted “It’s not a matter of if, but of when” and I think that couldn’t be more true. I have faith that before we know it, the controversy over the union of same-sex couples in Colorado and elsewhere will be a thing of the past. And for the sake of all couples, I can’t wait for that! For the time being, Erin and Sarah and all their loved ones are going to be celebrating just as hard (maybe harder!) this Summer, as the two of them express the love between them.

I went on my honeymoon since my last blog post! YAY!
Rob and I headed to my favorite place in the world, St. John USVI. Since I’ve been there a couple times already, we also visited Tortola BVI too. We enjoyed reading books, not using our smart phones or laptops, swimming, hearing the ocean, and driving around the islands on the left-hand side of the road while blaring Rihanna’s “We Found Love.” I finally made it to Tortola’s famous Bomba Shack, and we made friends with another shack owner, Nature Boy. We saw wildlife and animals roaming freely on the islands: donkeys, goats, chickens, huge iguanas, little lizards, hermit crabs, sea turtles.
I left determine to keep that Caribbean feeling alive inside of me. I think it may be called relaxation. So I’ve been trying to use my iPhone and laptop less and read more.
I debated bringing my camera along, partially since sand and water are just about the worst for your camera, but mainly because it was my HONEYMOON. Well I did bring it, but tried not to be tethered to my gear the entire time. And I promised Rob that he would not have to constantly model for me.
Of course, the images are below. So many blues! So colorful! If anyone wants me to do their engagement session at the Annaberg Sugar Mill ruins, go right ahead and set that up! Or a wedding. I am up for that challenge for sure.
